Suppl. Fig. S1.
Spironolactone differentially regulates genes in activated human blood mononuclear cells (MNC) under control of the transcription factors NF-kappaB and CEBPbeta

MNC were activated by lipopolysaccharide plus phytohaemagglutinin-P and added 100 microM spironolactone. After 4 hours of culture, mRNA was extracted and analysed by GeneChip technology (Affymetrix, Santa Clara, CA, USA). Visualization of the protein interaction and transcription network was generated using the Ingenuity pathways analysis; see http://www.ingenuity.com.

Genes in green boxes were down-regulated genes in red boxes were up-regulated (colour intensity: degree of regulation). Lines: interactions between two proteins. Arrows: Activation, acts on, or transcription of. Blocked lines: Inhibition.
