Myeloid-like type 1 dendritic cells (DC1)

DC1 stimulate type 1 T helper lymphocytes (Th1), which generate cell-mediated immune reactions.

Immature type 1 dendritic cells (iDC1) originate from DC1 precursors (pDC1 = blood monocytes) after transendothelial migration and phagocytosis. GM-CSF and IL-4 are coactivators, as are IFNg and TNF-a. Microbial components activate DC2 through Toll-like receptors (TLR).
